چکیده
Qilian Mountain is the only permafrost area in China where natural gas hydrates have been obtained through scientific drilling. Many studies performed on regions from perspectives of sedimentology and petroleum geochemistry, especially reservoir forming conditions exploration methods. However, there are still more divergences its evolutionary process, time, accumulation mechanism. In this study, a total 500 core samples were collected hydrate drilling wells DK-8, DK13-11, DK12-13 permafrost. Gas components, carbon isotopes methane, organic (TOC), chloroform bitumen “A,” concentrations kerogen element, vitrinite reflectance ( Ro ) analyzed. The results show that hydrocarbon source rocks Middle Jurassic Muli formation Upper Triassic Galedesi good rocks, with content “A.” at mature stage matters, matter types mainly Ⅱ 1 2 peak generating crude oil immense petroleum-associated gas. Also, highly stage, producing offering efficient for hydrate, Ⅲ . Laboratory experiments numerical analysis indicate has experienced three phases: migration aggregation Late to Early Cretaceous, overall uplift Miocene Pliocene, free deposits Quaternary. experimental sources, thickness, structural played key role controlling occurrence distribution hydrates.

Effect of permafrost properties on gas hydrate petroleum system in the Qilian Mountains, Qinghai, Northwest China.
The gas hydrate petroleum system in the permafrost of the Qilian Mountains, which exists as an epigenetic hydrocarbon reservoir above a deep-seated hydrocarbon reservoir, has been dynamic since the end of the Late Pleistocene because of climate change. The permafrost limits the occurrence of gas hydrate reservoirs by changing the pressure-temperature (P-T) conditions, and it affects the migrati...
متن کاملAssessment of Gas Production Potential from Hydrate Reservoir in Qilian Mountain Permafrost Using Five-Spot Horizontal Well System
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the production behaviors of gas hydrate at site DK-2 in the Qilian Mountain permafrost using the novel five-spot well (5S) system by means of numerical simulation. The whole system is composed of several identical units, and each single unit consists of one injection well and four production wells. All the wells are placed horizontally in the hyd...
متن کاملValidation of Seismic Methods to Detect Natural Gas Hydrates in Permafrost
The physical samples of natural gas hydrate were obtained first by drilling in permafrost region of Qilian Mountain of China in 2008. Permafrost area in Qilian Mt. is located in lower latitudes at high altitude, and the samples form in the Jurassic stratum under hard rock environment, rather than in unconsolidated soil layer. The environment of the Gas hydrate discovered is different from in th...
متن کاملFocus on the Development of Natural Gas Hydrate in China
Natural gas hydrate, also known as combustible ice, and mainly composed of methane, is identified as a potential clean energy for the 21st century. Due to its large reserves, gas hydrate can ease problems caused by energy resource shortage and has gained attention around the world. In this paper, we focus on the exploration and development of gas hydrate as well as discussing its status and fut...
متن کاملInvestigation of the Hydrate Formation Equilibrium Conditions of Natural Gas
One of the main problems in oil recovery via the gas injection is the formation of hydrates in thelines. In order to prevent the formation of hydrate in these lines, which leads to the blockage andsometimes explosion, at first, the equilibrium formation conditions must be determined and then toprevent its formation by changing the thermodynamic conditions or by adding the inhibitors. In thisres...
